みずほ銀行の佐藤康博頭取は１０月８日。暴力団への融資（※資金提供（編注））を放置した問題で初めて記者会見し、みずほグループのトップ就任直後の２０１１年７月以降、出席した取締役会などで資料により報告を受けていたことを明らかにした。

 

銀行が問題を把握した当時の西堀利頭取も当初より認識していたことも判明。

 

塚本隆史前頭取も取締役会に出席しており、歴代３頭取に報告されていたことになる。

 

みずほ銀行は、頭取は知らなかったとしていた従来の説明を一変させた。

 

組織的に問題を先送りし隠蔽していた疑いもあり、佐藤氏ら首脳の経営責任が厳しく問われるのは必至。

 

進退問題に波及する可能性も出てきた。
