Tennis: Nadal sort Djokovic et va en finale contre Raonic à Montréal

Pour leur 36e affrontement, Nadal est venu à bout du N.1 mondial Novak Djokovic au terme d'un jeu décisif à sens unique qu'il a remporté 7 à 2.
Après 2h28 d'un match intense, sans déchet, le Majorquin s'est imposé 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7/2) et mène désormais 21 à 15 dans leurs duels.
"Djokovic est le meilleur joueur du monde, gagner contre lui signifie beaucoup pour moi, a réagi le gaucher. Je crois qu'on a joué un grand match."
Nadal a donné le la dès le premier jeu de la rencontre, prenant le service du Serbe, avant de breaker une deuxième fois à 5-2.
Dans une réaction d'orgueil Djokovic enlève immédiatement le service de l'Espagnol en pilonnant en arrière-court.
Mais rien ne peut renverser la vapeur: Nadal remporte la première manche.
Le N.1 mondial ne se laisse pas déconcentrer et poursuit son jeu, jusqu'à finalement prendre le service de Nadal, grâce à une faute directe de celui-ci, ce qui lui permet de gagner le deuxième set.
La tension est à son comble pendant la troisième manche.
Personne ne perd son service, les échanges sont longs et rapides.
Djokovic monte au filet pour rattraper une amortie, qu'il relance doucement: Nadal récupère et frappe ... dans le visage du Serbe qui, mécontent, refuse les excuses de son adversaire.
"Je suis solide, je vais bien. On s?est expliqués à la fin. Tout va bien", a commenté ensuite Djokovic.
Le match se règle finalement au cours d'un jeu décisif maîtrisé haut la main par "Rafa".
"Le match était très serré. Il aurait pu basculer d?un côté comme de l?autre", a noté le Serbe.
Rafael Nadal sera opposé dimanche, à partir de 15h00 locales (19h00 GMT), à Milos Raonic, dont la qualification pour la finale a ouvert les portes du Top 10 de l'ATP.
Aucun autre Canadien n'avait réussi avant lui à se hisser parmi l'élite du tennis mondial.
Raonic, 22 ans, a battu son compatriote Vasek Pospisil 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (7/4).
Fidèle au jeu complet qui le caractérise, Raonic a réussi à faire le break à 3-2 dans le premier set pour enlever la première manche.
Qualifié la veille grâce à l'abandon du Russe Nikolay Davydenko, Pospisil, plus frais, a pris deux fois le service de Raonic au deuxième set pour le remporter 6 à 1.
Les deux Canadiens ne lâchaient rien en troisième manche, avec d'un côté Raonic qui attendait la faute de son adversaire, et de l'autre, Pospisil qui attaquait avec audace.
C'est d'ailleurs en tentant de monter au filet pour revenir dans le jeu décisif que Pospisil a cédé.
Alors qu'on lui demandait qui il pensait affronter dimanche en finale, Raonic a seulement dit "espérer que ce soit un match long".
